Sagrada Familia is an unique architectural gem and become Barcelona's most universal symbol. The construction begun in 1882 and a year later Antoni Gaudi was named director of the project. He hold this position for 40 years until his death in 1926. Still unfinished the cathedral is a combination of Modernista elements and a unique version of Gothic style.
